RSSBatman The Dark Knight delivers in every way

I typically don’t catch midnight premieres of movies, but I made an exception for The Dark Knight. I attended the 12:04am showing this morning.
I must say The Dark Knight delivers in every way possible. If a superhero move could be an opera it is The Dark Knight. Christopher Nolan captures the essence of who and what the Batman, Joker, Two Face, and Jim Gordon are. Non-comic fans should love the rich Batman story and fanboys will drool with glee.
Let’s get the Heath Ledger stories out of the way. There were people who probably saw this film because he died, but there was buzz about Ledger’s performance very early in production. He will be nominated for an Oscar, not because he died, because he deserves it. Aaron Ekhart was also fabulous and Christian Bale was even more believable as Batman in The Dark Knight.
I’m sort of gushing here, but Batman is nearly flawless. The running time of nearly two and a half hours. It may be too long for some people, but it seemed to flow well. Where Iron Man was good, The Dark Knight is great. Someday I hope to write my own Batman story.
Do yourself a favor and see one of the best movies of the summer.
